The Alberta Triple

Why did we change it? - We have been thinking and talking about adjusting the format for a couple of years, and finally the series has grown to the point that we could effectively offer options to suite, and help runners.

There are a number of reasons this is of benefit to runners. With the new, more open, format, if travel is a concern, you can choose races that are closer. If cost is a concern, you now have a bit more choice. If time is a concern, there are races that are not so committing in their format. There is more choice.

Also, some races are filling up within minutes of opening registration, and it was getting to be harder to register for the races needed. This is a good thing, as it means the Alberta races are successful, but it may mean you can't get in to the triple.

Which Races? - well, you have to do three races.
One pretty much has to be a hundred miler, so Ironhorse 160k, or Lost Soul 160k
One is going to have to be over 124k, so Death Race 125k, Sinister7 145k, Ironhorse 160k, Lost Soul 160k (yes, you could do two hundred milers if you wanted)
The Third must be 100k or greater, so, Blackfoot 100k, Ironhorse 100k, Fastrax 100k, Lost Soul 100k, or any of the longer races if you wish!
The requirement, is you finish three, each at least 100k, must add up to 385k

Give me some examples
Blackfoot 100k, Deathrace 125k, Lost Soul 160k = 385k
Ironhorse 100k, Sinister7 145k, Lost Soul 160k = 405k
Ironhorse 160k, Fastrax 100k, Sinister7 145k = 405k

If you are a running machine:
Ironhorse 160k, Sinister7 145k, Lost Soul 160k = 465k!!!
If anyone does this, I will personally buy them a jug of beer!
